Peter Revelo, 32, has been charged with murder after stabbing 33-year-old Mely Vanessa Tafoya Mendoza dead at a home at 105 North St., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Police responding to a 911 call found Mendoza with a stab wound to her torso around noon. She was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 12:36 p.m.
Revelo was taken into custody at the scene and charged at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City with first-degree murder and weapons offenses, Suarez said.
The Cause and Manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
